Advanced Elements 2.5 Gallon Summer Shower / Solar Shower

Use: Purchased this for Boy Scout Jamboree that I am on staff for..

“Summer Shower” is the best so far! I originally ordered it in the 5 gallon in 2015 and it lasted over a year. This 2.5 Gallon feels much lighter than the 5 gallon ones and I hope will have less tendency to tear. This replaces the “Easy Go Camp Shower” (5 gallon) that I ordered March 23 this year. Its hose connection leaked and water leaked from the cap. Last week it tore on its own near the hose at the bottom and finally just ripped apart. It was much cheaper made than the “Summer Shower” brand. This model is made by ‘Advanced Elements’ and the hose attachment is more secure along with the cap. From having used several of these, I feel less weight is the answer to longevity! I use these to wash my dog’s paws after our walks. It hangs over the bumper with the sturdy strap locked through a side ring and with my Jeep’s tailgate up, allows easy spraying to ground level. You could probably accomplish same with water in a half gallon jug but this is much easier and cleaner. The nozzle shuts off quickly. I can rinse off beach sand, grass, etc. This probably wouldn’t be enough water for a personal outdoor shower but the weight is better for lifting and perfect for rinsing off dog paws.

I shied away from solar showers until this summer on a sailing trip, and loved it. A warm shower in the cockpit after a hot day was an amazing luxury, as the sailboat did not have a shower, and the nearest one was on shore, a long dinghy ride away.

Works great! Not too heavy. I don’t fill it up completely and will have half the water left when I’m finished. I get wet then turn it off. I then “soap up” with Dr Bonner’s and scrub with a wash cloth. I then rinse for 30 seconds or more and still have plenty of water left. I like the screw fill opening, the thermometer and the off/on feature. Hope it lasts a long time! 😊

This is a real solar shower, not one of those bags that don’t really heat your water. Great for camping and sending to our troops fighting in the deserts with no showers. It rolls up nice and compact, too.

Terrific item for camping. This size is perfect for one or 2 (if short showers) person(s). Also very important for me was that, when full, the bag was not too heavy for me to carry over a distance. Warmed up in sunshine in very short time. Sorry did not time it, but was very pleased with results. Would highly recommend this product and size.

The Advanced Elements 2.5 Gallon Summer Shower is perfect to have on board our 36′ sailboat. We sail on Lake Ontario, so have an abundant source of fresh water. Since our on-board shower uses our freshwater (drinking) supply, I don’t like to use it for showering. However, I can fill up the Solar Shower and in just a couple of hours have plenty of warm-hot water for a full shower. It rapidly heats the water up into the 90+ degree range, and, on really sunny days it gets up to 122 degrees! Almost too hot to use without cooling it down a bit. Just a touch of luxury away from the amenities of home.

works great…be careful the water can get dangerously hot / too hot for a shower. I had to add cool water to get it to 102 degrees.

it works. Kept us clean while staying at showerless national park campgrounds. Its enough water for 2 people to shower if you are conservative.

Like other items purchased here, I was waiting for the right moment to use this shower system, but havent been camping yet this year. Instead…. I used it to give the dog a bath! This shower kit holds the 2.5 gallons as indicated and the reinforced handle has absolutely no problem holding the weight. The nozzle is a cinch to use, simply slide it forward and you have spraying water! As directed I left it in the sun long enough to make it comfortable for my dog, without being too hot, hung it from a sturdy ash tree limb, and got the task at hand done! Nice system, no leaks or tears along the handle etc.
