Surprisingly high quality and comfort for professional use

UPDATE: After a year of service, I can confirm this is a great chair. Not one problem, yes it’s bigger and heavier than any of the other folding camping chairs, but nothing comes close to the sturdiness of this chair, the difference is the tubes than go straight down from the chair to the feet. It makes it heavier, and bigger folded up than the other styles, but to me it’s an easy tradeoff. It is NOT for ultralight backpacking 🙂

I’m a big heavy guy (6’5″ ~300lbs) and it is hard to find comfortable, light, and compact camping chairs that will hold my weight. This chair really fit the bill. It is extremely sturdy, very lightweight, and reasonably compact. I wish it were a bit more compact, but that is the price I pay for being heavy.

Pleasantly surprised

I recently bought another director chair to replace my favorite chair for plein air painting, it turned out to be pretty uncomfortable. Ordered this style and didn’t know what to expect. The chair has proven to be sturdy and comfortable so much so ordered another one.

Great combo of heavy duty + light and easy to carry

You give up a little comfort with this chair (no arms and the back is pretty low). But the upside is a smaller and lighter body that is easy to take anywhere. And it is still very sturdy. I believe it’s weight limit is accurate.

Great for ICE FISHING

Great for Ice Fishing! We needed chairs that didn’t have arms to help safe space in our pop up ice shelter, and to make it easier to get out of chair. The chair is very well built and doesn’t hold snow or wetness like typical camping chairs would. Also something I didn’t think about before, but really love now, is the fact this chair doesn’t sink you in like other chairs. When you sit in this chair it keeps you pretty level instead of pulling you down a couple of inches. Now for camping a relaxed chair is more desired, but for ice fishing the sinking factor kills your back! So these chairs are amazing! I bought one to start to test it out and immediately bought a second. A must buy!

Nice chair for the river.

I ordered one of these. After receiving it, I ordered two more. It appears to be well made. I plan on using the chairs down at the river. The mesh fabric and weight capacity made this an easy choice. It doesn’t have arms with cup holders, but I find those to be bothersome, and not very sturdy. The aluminum legs mean no rusting. I weigh 240 pounds. It looks like this chair will live up to its 400 pound rating. It doesn’t pack up as small as some folding chairs, but that doesn’t matter to me. It fits inside its tote bag, and isn’t all that heave at 5.5 pounds. The all black color is nice compared to a lot of the multicolor chairs out there. This is a good companion to the Walkstool Comfort chairs i purchased awhile back (3 legged stool). It looks as though theses might be hard to find or they’re being discontinued, so if you want one you better get one soon. I’m picky about my gear and I thought it was good enough to buy 3 of them.

Best Armless Quad Chair Ever Manufactured

 on October 12, 2016

I’m an avid deer hunter and have hunted extensively out of ground blinds, often chaperoning a kid. Simple fact, you cannot put two folding soccer mom chairs with arms inside any standard pop up hunting blind. The chairs are 32″ to 33″ wide and the blinds are 60″. You can’t change physics! However, two folding chairs without arms have always worked. Unfortunately, almost no one manufactures armless folding chairs anymore. The only readily available options today are the three legged chairs. If you are 6′ or taller and 200 lbs or heavier (I’m 6’2″ and 22 lbs), they are simply not comfortable for any length of time. I searched extensively online and had almost given up when I found the ALPS Mountaineering Adventure Chair. This is a phenomenal product. It is far superior to any chair of its type I have ever own over the past 20 years, and I have owned many. Yes, they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and for what you are getting with this chair, they are a bargain! They are as light or lighter than any of the cheap chairs and they have a 400 lb weight rating versus the 225-250 rating of the cheap competition. If you own a pop up hunting blind, then owning at least two of these chairs is essential. A word to hunting blind manufacturers: You need to get onboard with Alps Mountaineering and offer these as they are, or private labeled for you with your blinds.

Perfect for playing guitar around campfire.

Love how sturdy yet light. Specifically chose a chair without arms so I could hold my guitar while sitting in this chair, and is perfect for that. Since there are no drink holders, also bought a camp table, so now all is good.
