I (like other reviewers here) debated between the Sport-brella XL and the Coleman Beach shade. I did a lot of research on shade structures. I chose the Coleman and am glad I did. The structure arrived earlier than expected. I set the structure up at home before leaving for the beach. Took me about 10 minutes the first time setting it up. I was able to easily roll it back up, poles and all and get it back in the bag. The bag is small but if you roll it just like they direct and if needed fold the tent in quarters to the size of the bag you can get it back in the bag.

I have three different sizes of canopies shades, two Lightspeed Instant shades (Kona and Bahia) and Coleman Compact Shade Shelter. Each of them has its pros and cons and none is perfect.

If you’re a parent, the picture I uploaded pretty much sums it all up. Our son took his nap on the beach in Maui, so this thing was worth it, just for that.

We bought this for the beach because we were tired of making towel tents for the babies. This shade blew away our expectations on the first day. Not only did it have enough space for 2+ playing/eating/sleeping bubs but we could still fit a chair in there during the hottest part of the day. With the back window open the breeze kept it nice. Usually we bail on the beach after a couple hours to escape the sun but this year we stayed for much longer reading and relaxing in the shelter while the babies slept with full view of the ocean out the front. It went up fairly easy and breaks down fast. Easier with two people but possible with one. LOVE THIS TENT!

I purchased this for the beach and it was definitely worth the price. As you can see from my pictures, I purchased the pink one. I was kind of hesitant on the color as I did not know if I would like the color and how hot it would be on the beach. Needless to say, I love the pink color. It is easy for me to find it on the beach because very few people have any color similar to it. Also posting pictures of the accessories that are included in the box.
I’m surprised that there aren’t more people on the beach with one of these!

We used our beach shelter today for the first time in San Diego, CA – had a few people actually stop and ask us where we got it. We didn’t see another one (or any other type of beach tent) on the beach at all!

We have owned this tent for a month or so and we have used it 6 or so times already. We had bought it so that my 6 month old wouldn’t get too much sun when we are at the beach. I’ll start off by telling you the features that we like about it.

We loved this at the beach for my 2 baby girls, we needed something that could also contain them if we needed to, this has a zipper so they can be private and contains for naps! It does take about 5-7 mins and is easier with two people but can be done alone. Folds up small and light. Love this product and we will be using a lot at the beach

After one trip to the beach with the Coleman Beach Shade, I find that I am quite happy with the product. The Beach Shade provided quite a large area of comfortable shade, more than enough to lie down completely and not have any sun inside.
