Great Backpacking Chair

We’ve had the Coleman Woodsman chairs for years. They are very lightweight if you are looking for something to take backpacking. My son and I just finished a 40 mile round trip backpacking trip and I bought this Woodsman II chair because we brought along a friend of my son’s this time and needed an extra.
Good but Heavier then stated

Worked well, strapped it on the outside of my pack. It weighs right at 3 Lbs. I’m 6’2″ and 220Lbs, and it was comfortable to sit in. My buddy has a tri-pod stool and hated it in comparison.
Awesome Chair!

The Woodsman II chair was recommended by a friend of mine in scouting. I’ve used it for a weekend hiking trip. The chair is light but sturdy. It leans back a little more than I would like that that’s the only negative I would have.
Great space saver, but not most comfortable

We bought two of these because of storage issues in our Roadtrek. They are perfect for that reason, but are not the most comfortable camping chairs. The back rests too far back but we adjusted by placing a plastic spacer between the back support and the legs – much better now. These would be great for kids about 8-14 years old.
Great price and weight for hiking, but…

This chair is light weight and durable. I’ve used it on several long backpacking hikes, but there is one issue I have with it that keeps it from being a five star purchase. When you lean back it goes back too far. There is a way around this, but it will require me attaching a few rubber stoppers to keep the bar from closing as far as it does. Otherwise, you can’t beat it for the price, but be prepared to make slight modifications based upon your need.
Really lightweight

I wanted this to carry with me along with about 35 lbs of art materials for Plein Air painting – it had to be lightweight and i have tried several different products – one a chair in a bag which weighed a ton – another clumsy and difficult to carry along with my other gear. This chair really is lightweight only about 2 lbs and it is easy enough to put my arm thru or put a luggage strap on to carry – The thing is i am tall and this is really close to the ground – but it isn’t meant to be a lounger so that really doesn’t make that big a difference it is only for when we take a break and better than sitting on the ground or a rock – It is perfect for me
