These are a great headlamp. I have purchased purchased 7 of these. I keep one in my car, 2 in different backpacks, tool boxes, work bench and every other place a light would be needed. In the 7 that I purchased there was a problem with one. The red LED did not work. I had a replacement in my home from Foxelli within 4 business days. I have the black and the white models. I find that the white ones are easier to see in my backpack and on the ground. IMO

Sturdy – Press and hold and goes straight to red LED!!!!

This lamp is one of those things I’ve been meaning to get but putting off for the past couple years so when I got an opportunity to get it at a discount for my honest review, I jumped on it. The key reason for me to get this version is the red lamp capability. I’m in the Military so when I do my monthly field training, I can only use red lamps and need something durable when I’m not wearing my helmet. This is perfect, looks and feels sturdy, I love the button action on top. I’ll find out how good it functions when I’m beating the crap out of it next month! 🙂

I am amazed at how bright the first setting is and the broad area the light covers. My backyard is 90 feet long and about 30 feet wide and I can stand with the headlamp on the first click at one end and see the entire yard at night, no moon, and see what my black dog is doing at the far end. No flashlight or even the larger lantern I have does so well. I also use it when I go out at night to fill the bird water bowl or to put out the garbage and have to go past plants, statues, and different levels of ground and I see everything very well. I highly recommend this light. I have other head lamps, but this is by far the best. I don’t expect to ever have to use the whistle, but it is nice to know it is there.

Best battery operated headlamp I have ever owned! Super bright! Doesn’t destroy night vision.

I am an avid outdoorsman and use headlamps when fishing, hiking, camping and snowmobiling. I have two other headlamps but this Cree LED headlamp from Foxelli is clearly the best. The best features of this lamp are 1. Long battery life, 2. Waterproof , 3. Far brighter than the other two headlamps I own, and 4. Red light option. For a battery operated headlamp, it is very comfortable on my head and is easily adjusted to fit properly. The red light option is awesome for use at night when you need light to move around but do not want to destroy your night vision.
