Perfect Poolside Shower

We purchased this as a replacement for a wooden shower that connected to a hose and had no temperature control. We swim almost daily and like to rinse off the chlorine as soon as we get out of the pool, and we also rinse off before we get into the spa. This shower is perfect for those purposes. Assembly was relatively easy, and with the pipe tape in place on all connectors, we have not had any leakage problems. The water heats very quickly in our sunny and hot Sacramento climate, and the hot water lasts at least long enough for both my husband and me to shower after we swim. (We have yet to run out of hot water when we needed it.) In fact, the first person to use the shower has to put it on a colder setting or the water is too hot. We have not had any problems with excess dripping or leaking, and the shower spray is contained in a relatively small area. We have been using this shower almost daily and we love it.

SOLAR SHOWER IS HOT!

After a lot of research on solar showers, I purchased the AquaLivin’ 4376, and I’m glad I did! It was very easy to put together, with only a pair of pliers (or socket wrench) needed to tighten the shower column to the rigid plastic base. It is really cleverly designed to fit into a relatively small package, without too many parts, but is solid when assembled. Best of all, it provides an affordable way to rinse off sweat and dirt before swimming or simply to cool off after a day spent in the sun. This sturdy, portable shower would be ideal for stables and sporting events as well. The column comes in 2 sections, one of which seats inside the other and is held firmly in place by a large “nut” (for lack of a better term) made of the same resin-like material. The base (should you decide to use it) comes in 4 sections which lock together and are held by rubber grips, which in addition to four more rubber grips, keep the base from sliding around. When you bolt the flanged bottom of the shower column on the base, it further solidifies the base as a unit. If you’d prefer to secure it to your own base, anchor bolts are provided in the package. The water temperature can be adjusted with the single handle which they recommend you always start in the middle (warm) or on cold, as the water can get really hot in full sun. A basic, but adequate shower head comes with it, but I plan to substitute one with a hand held sprayer to make it more versatile, like for rinsing off a young child or a pet. (There is a similar model which comes with a “foot rinsing spigot” but it is not currently available.) In any case, making more connections to the basic pipes adds to the possibilities of leaks in the future; I figure simple is best in that regard. The solar shower does heat up even on cloudy days, but I hooked it to a 100 ft. black contractor’s hose, to increase the hot water supply. I also added a hose-end shut off, just in case there were any leaks: once the shower column is full, you can turn off the hose, keeping the water in the shower until you want to use it again. If the water in the shower is not under pressure it is less likely to put a strain on the system. I haven’t had any leaks, but I wanted to be prepared. Whether for use at poolside, to rinse off after hard work in the yard, or maybe even cut back a bit on energy bills, this shower offers an attractive alternative.

It has a nice rain shower head as well

I recently bought this solar shower. It works very well (had it about a month, so I have been using it).

We experienced a small leak from the knob as soon as we filled it for the first time. My phone call to customer service was returned within 24 hours and when I explained the issue, they immediately shipped a replacement.

Great Poolside

Bought one 3 years ago and love it. It’s so nice to have a hot shower after an evening swim. It’s a short hot shower but enough for one or two persons. I love it so much going to buy a 2nd one. No leaks, easy to assemble, hook up the hose and let the sun shine.

Great Shower, but….

This is a great shower that does exactly what it says it will do. That said, be sure to read the fine print. DO NOT LEAVE THIS UNIT OUTDOORS DURING THE WINTER IN SUBZERO WEATHER, even after you think you’ve drained it and disconnected any water line. My first unit cracked completely in the base tube and was rendered unusable. I had to order a second unit. But the instructions tell you to dismantle and store in a protected area. I wish I had read the fine print.
