Kelsyus Original Canopy Chair

Ordered this after seeing another parent using one at my sons baseball game. I was highly pleased when I received the chair . The frame is very very sturdy…not at all flimsy like the $10 store brand you buy at retail stores ( simple fold and bag type). The cup holder is large enough to hold a fast food drink cup ( I have used it to hold my large tea cup many times) the material is thick but comfortable…you don’t have to worry about rips or tears…..the center of the chair material is made so as to be breathable for those hot summer days. Now the very best part the canopy…absolutely love this feature…just swing it in to position,lock in place and you have shade all day long…..during a recent night baseball game it started to rain in the 1st inning while everyone else was grabbing umbrellas I simply flipped up the canopy and was comfortable through 9 innings of baseball. At the end of use fold canopy down behind chair then fold chair up wrap the canopy around the chair and buckle as the canopy becomes your chair bag. It has a carrying strap for ease . The weight of the chair is moderate and easy to maneuver.

Awesome chair !! Is very sturdy and I love the way it folds up (including the canopy) in about 5 seconds. I also love the way that the canopy is actually the carrying case when you fold it. You don’t have to wrestle with putting it in a carrying bag. The only thing I would improve is to put a flap on the front of the canopy to block the sun when it’s in front of you instead of over you. Sometimes we go to the beach in the morning and the sun is not quite high enough for the canopy to block it, so I throw a towel on top of the canopy and let 3 to 4 inches hang over the front of the canopy to block the sun from coming in from the front and blinding me.

We have 3 of these chairs. Two were bought for a week long event in 2012. Good features= Relative light weight for the type of chair. Easy to carry with attached back-pack straps that attach to the shade. The shade actually collapses and clips around the folded chair, eliminating the need for a bag and allowing quick and easy set up and take down. Large shade gives good sun protection. There is both a Cup holder and mesh pocket to store, lighter/phone/cigarettes in the arm rests. Mesh pockets in the shade are handy to store reading material, wallet or ID. Bad= poorly made plastic joints in the seat which break. One chair was used only 3 days and another for approximately 12. These joints are attached with rivets. But parts of the chair have screws so we hope to get replacement parts and repair the chairs ourselves. Will hopefully give a revised review if manufacture cooperates with this request. Loved the chairs during the time they were working properly. Other reviewers have mentioned this same failure of seat joints or that of the straps coming off. We have had no difficulty with the straps or chair material. Some are upset because the shade is somewhat floppy but this seems to be by design to allow it to encase the chair. Some complained the shade was not adjustable for the moving sun. However we either moved the chair or attached lightweight beachwear scarves to the sides with clothes pins to accomplish custom shade. We have experience no problems with the chair frame of plastic feet apparatus. Feet are such that this chair can be used in a tent with a floor with no problems.

Love this chair! It’s sturdy and comfortable. It’s also quick and easy to set up, but because of the integrated canopy, which wraps around and clasps, you don’t have to worry about misplacing or losing the storage bag, like with other chairs like this. The only drawbacks are that there’s only one cup holder and it’s rather small; would be nice to have a larger one, or at least one on each arm, and that the canopy is not more adjustable; it’s either fully up or fully down. Neither of those, however, is enough to deduct any stars.

Well constructed and designed. To fold into the canopy makes it excellent for storage, and you don’t have to worry about where the bag went! It’s wide enough for comfort and sturdy enough for my weight (230 lbs). The only wish I have is that the cup holder might have been put on both sides.

I recently purchased this chair. I bought it after a friend that has spent many years on the sidelines, watching her son play soccer, recommended it to me. She said it was the only one they had tried that lasted. I have been using it at my own kids games. It is awesome! I am LOVING the shade the canopy provides, and it is super easy to set up. The netting does allow for circulation, so it is even more comfortable. I am going to bring a beach towel to the next game, so that if the angle of the sun comes in sharply from the side, I can maintain more shade. One lady, at our last game, complimented the chair, and remarked she was going to have to get one, too. I am very particular, so I did notice that the chair I received had a small imperfection in the netted part of the fabric where the “bones” of the chair had pressed against it. It does not look like it will turn into a hole, but it is an imperfection. Also, the chair is a bit heavier than the cheaper pop open chairs I am use to. I’m okay with this. The comfort and shade are more important to me than having a lightweight chair. I plan to buy another chair as my poor husband is not looking nearly as comfortable as I am.

I’ve only just gotten it, but so far I like it. The canopy makes for a quick case so setup and take down is super fast/easy. One thing… the canopy doesn’t work so well in the rain, the water falls off on the arm rests, but hey it’s meant for the sun.

I bought this because I bought a collector car and wanted somewhere to park my butt at the occasional car show. The car is a small two-seater with very limited trunk space and the chair fits! The canopy is a huge plus if you’re in a place with no shade…you just reach behind you and pull it up over your head. Don’t need the canopy? Just push it away and it folds back behind the chair. The canopy is also used to wrap up the chair and carry or stow it away (no bag to try to stuff the chair into). Nice mesh venting to allow the chair to breathe. Dunno how durable it will be over time but it feels sturdy to me (I weigh about 215#). Tried it on a dry lawn and there was no digging in/bogging down in the dirt. Very happy with this item.

I love this chair and it is much easier to pack up than a chair I bought prior, that would not fold down without a tool to release the top ratchet adjustment. It is also easy to carry with the nice padded carrying strap. I would buy it again.
