We mostly use these so I can keep tabs on my kids when they go to the neighborhood park. We tested them out to see how far the range is, which was about 5 miles. My husband drove over to the next subdivision which is across a hwy and in the woods before we lost contact.

I bought these for my family cruise. We were in three vehicles traveling – nice to have these on the road – quicker than calling each other. They worked fairly well on the cruise too. The ability to select a privacy channel along with your primary channel is the magic behind these. Without the privacy channel, you would have others hearing your conversations because there are only so many different primary channels to choose from.

I bought the three-pack of these radios to use on my video productions. Normally, the crew is only separated by a few feet, but there are times when some people are several blocks away or on the other side of a field during a very long shot. Thus, the need for a reliable radio to talk back and forth. These radios do the job well. They’re pretty much plug and play, with a selection of channels, although I’ve never had the need to look for an open one. The bright yellow color also helps distinguish between cast and crew. The only thing I wish was different: the three pack comes with a charging station for only two radios at a time. Should be a three-position unit to charge them all at once. Anyway, the batteries last a long time, through the day-long shoots with no worries. All in all, a good product at a fair price.

Worked perfectly on a cruise between 11 floors. A little bit harder to hear end to end if on one high floor and one low floor. Cruise ship was about 80,000 tons. Well worth the money!

Just what I expected at an affordable price. Used to communicate with my friends in the Sierras where there definitely was no cell phone coverage. Lightweight with an attachable clip. Had no issues on clarity.
