My new favorite camp pillow

When I received this pillow from UPS I immediately opened it up, inflated it, and tried it out on my bed at home. I was impressed at the comfort this pillow provides. Being able to tailor the amount of air inside of it to the level of firmness/softness you desire makes it enjoyable no matter where you use it. I have used it on 3 Boy Scout camp outs now (I’m an Assistant Scoutmaster) and will never camp without it again. It self inflates to a certain degree, then you simply add as much or as little air as you desire. The orange side has a soft texture almost like a pillow case, and the grey side has somewhat of a non-slip texture to help keep it from moving around while you sleep. Now I just have to buy 2 more, 1 for each of my sons.

Great portable/packable pillow

This pillow is great! I recommend it. It sure beats wadding up a jacket and clothes in a stuff sack. Very comfortable. Self-inflates quickly and fully–if anything I have to force some air back out of it. 🙂 Great product. Rolls up and fits in a small stuff sack. I use this when touring on my Honda ST1300 motorcycle.

Performs to the product description perfectly. But the features have other applications beyond the campsite. The size, shape and method of inflation/deflation make it customizable, for example, to my lumbar spine as if an orthopedic tech made it for me. I inflated it beyond my lumbar curve, tightened the valve, leaned against it in the sitting position, opened the valve and let my weight deflate it until it was perfectly comfortable, then tightened the valve while still leaning against it. It sealed shut in the shape of my lumbar spine and stays that way. I adjust it as desired. I’ve used it in the car through weather changes and the air pressure holds. I’m getting three more for office chair, home chair & for sitting up in bed.

I really love this pillow. As a Scout leader I camp out 2 or 3 nights a month. This pillow is great, for hiking in or car camping. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my son. I highly recommend it.

Pack-away size isn’t ideal for backpacking…

I loved that I could just open the valve, throw it in my tent, and go make dinner while the pillow filled up with air. It’s self-inflating so that ability means you don’t have to sit there and blow up the pillow you’re going to sleep on (like a balloon). Yet, in comparing that difference, it also brings up a difference in pack-away size. Since this pillow is self-inflating, it is very hard to get every last bit of air out, so you are stuck attempting to push the air out and roll up the pillow at the same time (leaving the rolled up size to still be rather large for backpacking). The pack-away size wouldn’t be a problem for travel or car camping, but if you’re deciding to get a pillow for backpacking then you need to take that into consideration. The pack-away weight was also slightly heavier than, say, a pillow that you blow up on your own.

Excellent portable pillow

I haven’t yet taken this pillow into the elements but it has performed wonderfully on my living room floor (paired with a ComfortLite sleeping pad). The ability to adjust the firmness makes all the difference in the world with a portable pillow. I returned another highly rated backpacking pillow for this product and am very happy I did. I will update this review after my upcoming backpacking trip this weekend after I evaluate its ability to keep the firmness I set it to.

GREAT

I give this product a 4 star because it is a very light weight pillow and it is quite large. The only problem that I have found with this product is that the bag that it comes in cant be flipped inside out and used as a cover. I bought one of these in the united kingdsom and they made it were the packing cover could be flipped inside out and then could be used as a pillow cover that was fleece on the inside.

Get a good night’s rest.

Perfect for camping. Love the self inflating (works after you inflate it the first time yourself). I slept well, it could work for either backpacking or car camping. Done and done.
