The Trail Scout is an ideal value for first-time campers and those looking to upgrade from closed cell foam pads. It’s perfect for light backpacking, car camping, summer camps and adding essential warmth to cots. A streamlined shape keeps the weight and size down while a generous and supportive, self-inflating foam core inflates with the twist of the valve. Includes stuff sack.

Works as advertised. I’ve used it a couple times now and it’s quite comfortable, and much warmer than I thought it would be. You only need to lay on it for a few minutes and you’ll start to feel your own body heat radiating back at you. Compresses pretty well and comes with a stuff sack. I use it for backpacking. I’m about 6′, 200 lbs, and the Large size fits just right – any shorter and my feet would hang off. I worry a little bit about durability, specifically punctures to the seemingly thin shell…but time will tell.

Works as advertised.

Be sure to follow the directions and let it self inflate for a couple of hours then give it a couple breaths to ‘over’ fill it a tiny bit then let it sit overnight. Doing this is critical prior to the first use to allow it to inflate as described.

Excellent sleeping pad, perfect for backpacking!

This is an excellent pad. I had my doubts at first, but it really does add a lot of comfort to your night in a tent. The self inflation works great, I only added a few breaths to the valve to help give it a little extra air.

Does not disappoint, especially for the price.

My wife and I bought two of the medium size pads as a compromise between a more expensive pad from the same company and a couple cheap-o air mattresses from a big box store. Since the taller of the two of us is 5’5”, the medium size is perfect because it’s exactly the right length for head-to-toe padding with no excess. As a result, packing size and weight are optimized because we’re not carrying any more pad than we need.

Bought these as Christmas presents for my two sons who are Boy Scouts. I already own one and absoluty love it. It insulastes you from the ground and is actually more comfortable that it seems. I am 6′ and 270 lbs and this mattress holds air the entire time (being this size most air mattress go flat). Would recoment this to anyone that hikes or camps regularly. The only thing I dislike ablut thermarest is there mattress now DO NOT include a carry sack or compression straps. Guess when you make a broduct that lasts you need to ensure you make additional revenue. A stuff sack is not mandatory but two compression straps, in my oppion are.

Skinny mat

I like the simplicity of this mat and how compact it is when rolled up. However, I feel like it never inflates to its maximum potential. It is VERY skinny, so is not really appropriate for large people. You have to be sure to sleep in one spot and not move or roll at all or you will come off of the mat. Though, it is about a thousand times better than sleeping on the ground.

Decent pad for the price

I bought this sleeping pad for my mom after hearing how my friend loved hers. It wasn’t the most comfortable pad around, but it did the trick and was affordable. It all comes down to preference though and some people will love this pad like my friend did. On another note, it rained a little into sides of tent, but pad stayed dry.

Just enough comfort and a great size

Slept on it for 3 straight weeks without a problem. I made sure to open the valve during the day to make sure that it didn’t burst, as it was very hot outside. It was just comfortable enough for me, easy to inflate and very easy and small to store in my ruck.

good value

excellent value. We are using these for our kids, so they don’t feel the shorter length. We have used them for camping in the cold fall, not in winter. They did the trick of keeping the kids warm with no problem.
