This is one of my favorite knives of all time. For someone who spends a lot of time outside in the woods, it’s an ideal hiking/camping companion. The wood saw alone is well worth the price listed, as it comes out of the box sharper than most quality handsaws, which makes it ideal for cutting small firewood. Steel quality is good, meaning it’s going to hold a good edge for long time and be easy to sharpen (Very little work made mine wood carving sharp. Out of the box it’s plenty sharp for 99% of applications, woodcarving just calls for another level.) The knife is slightly bulky, but considering the features, it’s actually thinner than I expected. It’s a four layer SAK style knife; it’s going to be thick enough for four 3/32″ slots!

Just the Basics

I had to order this to replace the identical knife that I have owned for 7 years: airport security had to confiscate and destroy it when I accidentally left it in my laptop bag.

Good knife, but I still like the original Climber more

I like this knife. It’s a more affordable version than the original Swiss Army Climber which is one of my favorite knives out there.

Just the right amount of stuff, and "pocket friendly"

I OWNED this knife. Then, after decades of not flying on an airline, I parked my car in economy parking at McCarren Airport, took the shuttle to the terminal, went through security, and realized I hadn’t given a thought to the Victorinox Swiss Army Spartan II Folding Camping Knife I carried in my pants 365 days a year.

Four years and counting with almost daily use

I have had this knife for four years and it has yet to fail me. When I first got the knife, I was VERY careful with it so as to prevent it from being scratched – since then I realized something – IT’S A POCKET KNIFE! USE IT LIKE ONE! I can and have used it for almost anything. The features I use most often in order are: the scissor, screwdriver (with a magnetic tip), pen, tweezers and knife. I have at one time or another used EVERY feature for its intended use or otherwise and LOVE this little knife. Its size also makes it really easy to keep around – in a pocket, on a belt (with the little leather case – not included), etc…. I take it everywhere I go and am always saddened when I have to leave it at home when flying. This knife is of the smaller of the two sizes Victorinox makes but includes the most and best features within this category. This is one of the best investments one can make.

VICTORINOX – always sharp!

Anything “Victorinox” & made in Switzerland, is 5 STARS. Excellent quality. Excellent blades. I buy 10 (on sale) at a time, wrap them and give them out to friends/family, throughout the year. It’s a really handy gift, and even the girls response is “excitement.”

Great Knife… I’m buying another.

I just ordered this knife for my son. He is 9 and will love this knife. I am 39 and he may not get this one because I love it too. I really like the feel of this knife with the new ( to me anyway) handle material. I lie the texture and the feel of quality in my hand. I got this knife for 20.00 here on Amazon and will most likely be getting one for myself. I purchased a Bantam for myself, but I may have to have one of these as well. I’m inpressed.

I can’t imagine living without this thing. I use …

I can’t imagine living without this thing. I use it one hundred times every day. To clean my nails, to build my plastic models, to open a wine bottle, to screw a screw, to drill a hole, to slice an enemy (okay just kidding on that last one). Should be required equipment for every human being.

Surprisingly useful, but get the Midnite MiniChamp instead

I originally received this knife as a gift, and I gave one of those fake “gee, thanks, this is swell” reactions because I didn’t really think it was something I’d ever use. After all, I’d never had a pocket knife, and I never felt the need to carry one.
