A double-walled bottle construction uses closed cell foam technology to keep your water cold twice as long as a standard bottle. The patented spill-proof, self-sealing Jet Valve allows the user to hydrate immediately without having to open or close a drinking interface and the bottle's streamlined ergonomic design offers excellent squeezability without compromising bottle grip. The large aperture of the drinking nozzle generates an exceptional water flow rate and is easy to remove for thorough cleaning. The Podium Chill also has a lockout dial with easy to read graphics for leak-proof transport.

First found these in a bike store in a smaller, less colorful version and the guy that just sold me my kids bike was over the top enthused about these hydration bottles. I purchased one even though I avoid the typical bike bottles like a plague because of all the obvious, BPA, plastics gassing, bad taste etc etc. but these were made by Camelback, a brand I trust and were ‘100% BPA Free with TruTaste™ HydroGuard lets you taste your water, not your bottle’ plus they had an easy open close switch and a leakguard. All wins as far as I was concerned.

I was looking to replace my daily stainless steel straw work bottle for two reasons – I was getting a metallic taste in the water and the 20 oz. un-insulated bottle would get to room temperature within an hour.

Best water bottle out there.

When Camelbak says this water bottle will keep your beverage cold, they aren’t kidding. The night before a long bicycle ride (80 miles) I filled it 3/4’s of the way with water and put in my downstairs freezer. Just before I started the ride, I filled it to the top with water and set off. 4 hours and over 50 miles later, there was still a bit of ice inside the bottle, ensuring me a cold drink after some pretty strenuous hill climbing. Air temperature fluctuated between 65° & 70°, I was so impressed, that when I got home, I ordered another one to replace the useless backup water bottle I was using.

These bottles really do work. If I fill the bottle with ice cubes and tap water, the water stays cold for at least a couple of hours in hot weather. 2 bottles on a long hot bike ride provide hours of cool relief. Plastic construction is relatively lightweight. 25 ounces is a good capacity. The valve system on the 2013 version of these bottles is a big improvement over the last version. It flows freely when open and is relatively leak proof when dialed closed. These fit fine in standard bicycle water bottle cages. Height is slightly taller than standard large sized bicycle water bottles, which may be a problem is you have a very small bicycle. Price is very reasonable for what you get. No complaints from me, especially since I bought them on sale for $10 each.

Great bottle with plenty of volume. I only ever use mine for water but we purchased 2 additional, one for my wife and son. Their bottles get used for everything from water to fruit juice, which requires them to be thoroughly be cleaned. They have gotten in the habit of taking the bottles apart, including the nipples, and throwing everything in the dishwasher. It’s been a year now, and the bottles still perform as well as they did day 1.

Love this bottle. Put a little water in it and froze it in the freezer overnight, added more water in the morning and even through a 4 hour, metric century, my water stayed very cold.

love the Camelback bottles

The jet valve really does work and sets the Camelback apart from all the rest. I do find it rather interesting that the price can vary widely with different colors for the same bottle.

Very practical workout bottle that keeps your drink cold for a typical exercise duration

After returning other bottles, I ordered CamelBak as I had good experiences with other products they made. I got two models from CamelBak, the Eddy Vacuum Insulated Stainless Bottle and the Big Chill Water bottle. I tried the mouth pieces and like them both. The Eddy works with a straw going to the bottom of the bottle, has a flip top to close it and the typical bite valve to drink. I like this system and because the straw is wide, you get good satisfying gulps out of the bottle. The Big Chill needs to be lifted overhead to drink – more of a typical workout, sports bottle.
