You’re probably buying these matches because of their ethical sourcing, but I also recommend them for being extremely easy to light. You won’t have to keep hitting the strike pad over and over again. If you’re looking for small, all-purpose matches (or camping matches), you can’t do better.

it’s a box of kitchen matches. the tips are green apparently to indicate they’re not made from planet-killing death-trees. or something. they work just fine aside from being green not red.

Well, I’m almost embarrassed by this one. Last night, I went to start the furnace and I didn’t have a match. (For those of you who might question the December 14 starting date, well I live in San Diego, so eat your heart out.) Alas, and I needed one of those long wooden ones so I could reach into the innards of the furnace to ignite the pilot light. Well, I found a box of Diamond Greenlight “Strike on Box Matches” at a nearby store and all was solved. One match did the trick. Plus, there’s 299 more of them so I’m stocked well into the future. In addition, these things can be real handy on camping trips. Nice matches from an old trusted brand. Who could have asked for more?
