I bought one of these air mattresses at Costco after going thru 5 Aerobed air beds. (To make a long story short, Aerobeds spring a leak about once every 30 days. Thank goodness Costco has a generous return policy.) These air beds are made from a different, stronger, and lighter material. (I don’t know what it is.) Also, there is only one seam around the outside of the mattress. Stay away from any air mattress that has multiple seams running across the top. Seams are where the leaks happen.

As soon as I received my mattress I inflated it with the battery operated pump that comes with it. I object to the complaints that people have posted about the pump. It did a great job. Nevertheless, I would not want to pack four C cell batteries if I were backpacking. I agree with everyone that the storage bag is too big. Go figure. So there I was with my inflated air mattress on the living room floor. I tried it out for comfort and with the very handy valve device on the fill port was able to bleed off enough air to make the mattress comfortable. I was sitting at the dining room table with the mattress on the floor behind me and at first the sound did not get my attention and then in horror I realized that my cat was “sharpening” his claws on the foreign object on the living room floor. I yelled at him and he scurried away but I was sure that my mattress was toast. I laid down on it and was feeling for jets of air escaping from around where I had seen my cat. Nothing. So I took it upstairs and stood it up on a desk for three days waiting for it to start collapsing. Nothing. I again laid it down on the floor, climbed on and could tell no difference in my depression into the mattress. I guess the only other test for leaks would be to pour water over it, but I was convinced that the mattress had escaped damage in my cat’s attack. I submit this testimony as strong evidence of the durability of this air mattress.

I wanted to clear up some confusion about this product. Another reviewer said they purchased this product for roughly $40 at Costco. The product he purchased is *NOT* the same as this one. I own both. Photos attached. The Costco version has fewer “Stabilizers” Knowing what I do about engineering and physics, the higher priced Amazon version is better. You could argue that the higher priced version has more points of failure, but a Simmons mattresses with more coils have more points of failure too, but the weight is distributed over more area. Do You see my point? Time will tell. I have both versions and one will last longer. What I do notice is that the Amazon version is more flat and certainly more rectangular. The cheaper Costco version slopes off at the edges more steeply lessening the useful sleeping area compared to the more expensive one. Ironically, the Costco version seems to advertise a larger size. Marketing people must have been involved 😉

I am a camper and I have been since I was little. Every air mattress I’ve tried in the past within my price range has disappointed. They usually need at the very least more air after just one night of sleeping on them, more than two have had me practically on the ground by morning. This one is so great though! We just camped for 5 nights and it didn’t lose ANY air – at all – for the whole time! Just one fill up and we were good for the whole trip. I really thought I was going to have to save up and buy an expensive self inflating mattress for us, but this mattress is excellent! It folds up so easily and so small – it’ll be good for backpacking too!

i have bought some really expensive beds over the past few years and i have done much research to get a good bed. i have not succeeded. so i decided to go with this. TPU does not stretch as many commented on and so it stays inflated. i put a foam 2″ topper on top of this and it’s like a regular bed, but i think it is better. yes the inflator pump sucks but it does the job. i am not going back to a normal bed. just have to dial in the air pressure now for the ideal feel. i wish i had not spent all that money on the last bed. worth noting that the size can be an issue when fitting sheets. it’s in between double and queen size. consider jersey sheets in double since they stretch.

Excellent

We went camping this week. This bed was comfortable. But the biggest deal is; between my husband and I there are 480 pounds on the mattress. There was no air leakage at all. In fact we had to let a little air out because we had filled it so full, anticipating leakage. It deflated and rolled up very easily. Fits easily in the carry bag along with the electric pump we purchased separately. Very happy with this purchase.

it’s comfortable however it slides easy

I have tried many products, from the very expensive to nominal cost. The airbeds that I spent a lot of money did not last very long, they leaked air or one of the internal air chambers broke. Used in the tent, it’s comfortable however it slides easy, need to put some friction under the bed to prevent it from sliding. This mattress & battery operated pump met my expectations. Batteries are not included with the pump, you will need to 4 4D batteries to power the pump.

This Lightspeed Outdoors 2 person airbed is absolutely wonderful!!! It is made of TPU material which means it is pvc and phthalate free. This was a major must for me and my family’s health. It does not have that nasty smelling plastic smell that some air beds do.Those airbeds have that smell because of nasty chemicals included in it. Not in this airbed!! IT comes with a pump that has attachments to blow it up.It blows up in about 2-3 minutes. You need 4 D batteries for the air pump, they are not included. The airbed is very comfortable and holds the air very well!! It is also verysturdy!!! The size is like a queen size , maybe just a tad smaller, but not by much .Two adults can fit on this comfortably!! This,I believe will last for a long time!! Comes with a carring bag.Win, win all the way around !! Happy customer!! 🙂

I was a bit nervous about whether or not this lightweight and slim mattress would work well for my husband and I as both of us are tall and heavy. It has been even better than I hoped! It truly doesn’t lose air overnight, even on cold nights. Most air mattresses I have used bounce horribly when the other person on the mattress moves or rolls over, this one does not. I actually slept through my husband getting up in the middle of the night. It is lightweight and very easy to use. We use this for tent camping and it’s been perfect for that.
