ShelterLogic New Auto Shelter,

I own this portable garage (10″ x 15″) from Shelter Logic more than 5 month.I live in Putnam County NY.After i build it up it was tested with all weather conditions,from hurricane Irene to our October heavy snow storm.If place where you want build it up have little angle,still is okay.Just if you have there some bumps or holes,make it flat.I build it half on grass and half on parking blacktop.For secure on black top take your instructions plane and visit local hardware store and ask there.They will help you.I was used longer drill and few Expansion Anchors with nuts and washers.First of all.FEW FREE TIPS; A)Don’t be silly and when you will build it up CHECK TO INSTRUCTIONS,FOLLOW NUMBERS AND YOU WILL SAVE FEW HOURS OF MY WORK.Because i was stupid j.. a…. and “Smart” people never read instructions.BUT IN THIS CASE I WAS WRONG.All tubing have a numbers and are big help.So that why i finish it little later,but I DID IT JUST MY SELF,without someone help.Just every time finish one side,don’t jump here and there and think. B)If you have a plane build it under tree,like i did,be sure you,(or ask someone),better trim all large branches few feet top on your shed.If they fold down because of heavy snow or big wind they will hit and can damage your cover or all shelter. C) Secure your garage with Shelter Logic 30″ Auger Anchors model # 10075.0,($20 at Home Depot) They are longer and will hold it down much better and stronger. D) SNOW REMOVAL!!Still construction is just from light tubes.(Don’t forget.How much you paid.) DON’T LET IT COVER WITH HUNDRED POUND OF SNOW!It is much stronger than looks and can keep few pounds of snow ,(i do it when have have 3-4″),but it’s individual,depend if is heavy or just nice,light snow.Better early than late.(Check all pictures) If you will follow my tips,you will also enjoy this cheep but great portable garage.If you are little tired from regular cover,(still up and down),and also from snow removal it’s for you.It’s good size for my 2010 JEEP Wrangler JK and now is my toy still clean and shiny.I doesn’t work for Shelter Logic.I’m just happy client and doesn’t like that all bad reviews.This is my first review and i hope you will understand it and will little help to you.I will try also download few pictures.So… YOU CAN DO IT! If this took 6 people 6 hours to put together then none of them should use hand tools, ever. As per other reviews you do assemble the frame and them unscrew several parts to put the canopy on = just read the instruction s FIRST so you understand why. 1 day after assmbly it stood up to high winds and rain without a problem – if you are expecting a permanent structure than you don’t buy something with soft sides. Go to there website, download the manual and KNOW what you are buying.

yes its cheap ,no its not hard to put together by yourself dont know what all the other people that bad mouthed the instructions do for work but anyone with a little handyness and tools can do it in under 2 hours..perfect for what im going to use it for ..i would not park a brand new corvette or a classic car in it during a hurricane or in 5 foot snow storm but i will leave it in there in all other weather and its safe in shade with no rain or moisture.. just dont be lazy sweep it off in winter storms hold it down high winds common sense people like the package says portable shelter, shelter logic is not going to come to your house for 300 bucks build you a sturdy garage the send a rep out every storm to sweep it off and hold it down..

I’ve owned 3, all differnt sizes, 25x12x10, 20x10x8, 16x10x8 and all three have stood up to large amounts of fluffy snow 2ft, high winds, and small tree limbs 1″ red oak, and hail that my house claim totaled 30 large. What more can you ask of a tempary shelter??? I will add that common sence told me if i wanted, more than a year out of the cover, that id have to keep the UV rays off it, so do as I did, go get a tarp and cover it, and replace them as needed, me every two years in the north east, down south every year! tarps range from 50-100 and are easy to replace, new covers are more, and not as easy. Also good ground cover will keep moisture down, moisture will rust anything including what ever your tring to save in the first place.again ITS A PORTABLE SHELTER. Sweet shelter, took 2 1/2 hrs to put up. My 1976 Corvette fits comfortably inside with plenty of room to open doors and not interfere with uprights. It is a shame that you need to remove the bottom rails to finish up but if thats as bad as it gets thats fine. We used 1 person to layout all the parts as instructed and then just started assembly. I was expecting it to be more difficult than it was based on prior feedback, heck it was 30 degrees and we had cotton gloves on to boot.. Really a good value for the price. 🙂 I would like someone to show me a better value for the money… I doubt anyone can.

Mine came with all of its parts, shy one washer and plus a couple of nuts and bolts. It took two handy people about five hours to make – and we had a little complexity because our soil was extremely hard and we had to improvise to raise the structure about 18 inches. Height wise, be aware that the door is only six foot something (I don’t know exactly anymore). We put in a 6×12 enclosed trailer just over 8 feet tall and needed to both (a) raise the whole carport 18 inches and (b) put the trailer in the carport before putting on the tarp. Taking the trailer out next season will be interesting.

The box was super heavy, which I was expecting after reading reviews. After getting some help moving it to the construction site, it took me quite a while to lay out and organize all of the parts – There are a lot! The instructions contain a manifest thankfully, so you can make sure that you have everything before you get started. There were 3 or 4 rather large holes in my box that occurred during shipping and my baggie containing the small hardware was torn open, but luckily I didn’t lose anything.
