Columbia Sportswear Women’s Saturday Trail Pant

I tried on close to a dozen pairs of pants searching for the ideal convertible pair for an upcoming hike of the Camino de Santiago. For a while, my front-runner was another version of these exact pants (same brand, same everything) that have zip-off legs. With that pant I ran into the same problem as many other reviewers- the fit and fabric were flawless, but the zippers had ZERO give and squished my thighs when in motion. I am 5’8″, 128 pounds, with a thigh circumference of about 17-18″ when measured two to three inches above the knee (where the zippers were). “Gosh,” I thought. “I wish they made a version of that pant without the zippers.” Well, lo and behold, I found these pants. They roll up and snap into place to make capris instead of shorts, but I am willing to live without a shorts option given my expected hiking conditions. I wore these pants on a ten-mile hike right out of the box and they fit great and moved with me. Looking forward to taking these on my hike.

I go hiking every day… Today was my second day wearing these lovely pants and the day that will solidify my love and appreciation for these pants.

Like others, I bought and loved the convertible Saturday Trail pants but hated the narrow zipper that was tight on my thighs. I absolutely fell in love with the Saturday trail fabric and bought every other length I could but wished it was available in a regular pant (not a convertible style). Finally Columbia made the pants I was looking for and I couldn’t be happier. These may be my favorite pants ever. They are VERY flattering and very comfortable and very stylish. I would love more colors – like a camel/deep tan or a navy, as these pants are fantastic and I would love to buy several more pairs. I usually wear a 14 in pants and for these a 16 fits me better (the first pair I bought I was able to try on in a store and found them to run a tad small). Thank you Columbia! You make great products. Also, I do love the fabric for outdoor use. They dry quickly and are the perfect canoeing or camping pants. But they also look nice and would make great travel pants.

Very nice lightweight pants that have enough stretch to be comfortable without getting baggy after hours of wearing them. The straight, slim cut is flattering and comfortable. Only downfall is that eventually this material pills.

These sports pants are light but made very well. I am a solid, curvey 163 pounds & the size 12 fits me comfortably. Although, the waist is a little loose I don’t want to take a chance on the size 10. The color & style are somewhat true to the picture provided here, yet nicer looking in general. I Like the way they convert to a Capri with snap straps held in place in their own hidden pocket “very smart touch Columbia”❤

Columbia is my “go to” brand for hiking adventures. The fit is reliable and consistent across the board. This material is the best sunscreen so I don’t have to slather on sticky stuff. I am petite (5’0″), and this brand is the only one I have found that isn’t ridiculously long. My hiking shoes will keep them from dragging while hiking.
