Excelent design and function

Disclaimer: I am a part time cigar smoker and have used several types of lighters over the years, but never an electric arc type. So you can imagine my excitement at the opportunity to try this one out. Unboxing it, I was pleased to find it well packaged with a small drawstring bag to protect it when not in use and a information card that provides important operation and safety information. Operation is straight forward, open the top and push the button and voila you own little lightning generator. Charging is also pretty easy but you are warned to avoid overcharging, so you are instructed to unplug it as soon as the lighter is fully charged (this is not a deal breaker but it does lose points for this with me on general principle). The safey warnings are all consistant with traditional flame type lighters with one exception, you are cautioned to avoid using it near metal. Not an issue for me, but interesting nevertheless.

This is so cool! There’s no gas involved in making this lighter work. You just recharge it using its USB port. It works great for lighting pre-rolled anything, but not for a pipe, because there’s no flame. You have to be able to put what you want lit in the arc. It works for candle wicks. It’s a very innovative device, and comes in a box, looking very attractive. My husband (who lives techie gadgets) was so delighted to receive this!

Product comes with everything displayed in the product photos. One thing it doesn’t come with is a wall charger for the USB cable, but this isn’t a problem if you have extra adapters or plan to charge from another device (computer). When the cable is plugged in, the connector sticks out and this is disconcerting.

This was the cheapest price I could find on this lighter, only $21.75 Shipped! Every other online listing I could find for this device was $30 or more. I received it 5-days after placing the order & everything was as described. Ive only been using it for a few hours but so far this thing ROCKS! I mean its a lighter that produces a F-ING PLASMA BEAM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! If you’re a Star Wars or SyFy fan in general, how could you not be in AWE over this awesome little device, but I digress.

Seeing that little plasma arc is really cool when you push the button. It ignites wood and paper very well but you need to have it item being lit almost in the plasma stream for it to work (thus the 4-stars rather than 5). This lighter also produced two unexpected side effects. The lighter creates a high pitched sound when lit that dogs don’t care for. You should also keep this away from children and idiot friends since this does create an electric shock potential (my friend stuck is finger in there before I could stop him and got zapped pretty good).

Works well and lights cigarettes faster than expected. Can’t fit cigarette between contacts but can get close enough to light. Just wished the contacts were wider apart.

Super cool but useful only to light very small cigars or cigarettes. Because I usually smoke only large cigars and not cigarettes, the lighter is more party conversation than practical; nevertheless, it is unique and works.
