Smartwool Women’s Cable II Socks

Im spoiled, I’ll admit it: I’m highly sensitive to wool and highly adverse to wearing thick, springy socks. I was being made fun of at work (at a hospital) for wearing white sport socks with dark shoes. Apparently, when I sat down, my white socks peeped out from under my trousers. I tried bamboo socks, cotton socks, and other itchy, wool socks. Nothing seemed to work to keep me warm and comfortable, yet stayed in place. These socks are a great answer to my life and I ended up ordering another pair. I’ll be wearing these under boots to keep me warm but feet breathing, as well as under my trousers so I’ll stop being an eye sore for colleagues and patients. They run a tad bit large, I’m a size 6/ordered a small, but overall, I’m very happy with these socks.

Smartwool socks were recommended to me as being great for sensitive feet, which I have. I was very nervous about them being wool, as I usually react badly to wool, but I was assured that this wouldn’t happen and indeed my skin was fine with them! I thought they looked nice and were comfortable. They were quite warm — by the end of my walk my feet felt like they were baking. But they were not sweaty, so that’s something. I liked the color. Buying last season’s colors halves the price, and in this case it was no hardship, the purple is muted enough to not be distracting if it shows, yet much easier to find in a drawer than yet another black thing.
